Our reporter discovers that Professor Calculus is building a space rocket. Him and Captain Haddock are amazed to find that Professor Calculus is planning a top-secret project from the Sprodj Atomic Research Centre in Syldavia. And before our intrepid hero knows it, the next stop on this adventure is space. Here is a testimonial : « This is part 1 of lunar adventure. Both books were my favourite when I was a child. It is nice to have them both again. I will not go over the plot as others have done this but surface to say all the great characters are here the reporter, captain Haddock, Prof Calculus and also of course the usual assortment of swarthy foreign villans – would it be published today one wonders? Bearing in mind it was writen long before space flight became a reality (let alone travel to the moon) it is rather accurate in detail although the design of the rocket is dated. Great fun – get both read them and then give them to your children or if older your grand children ».

One little ancient British village still holds out against the Roman invaders. The hero and Obelix are invited to help. They must face fog, rain, warm beer and boiled boar (Obelix loves them) with mint sauce, but they soon have Governor Encyclopaedicus Britannicus’s Romans declining and falling. Until a wild race for a barrel of magic potion lands them in the drink. It’s not quite cricket – how about a nice cup of hot water, though? Or even the first ever tea-party ? Here are testimonials : « Love this book,so many jokes that you sometimes don’t even notice! I bet that there’s even more jokes that I did not see. I really do recommend this book. Hope this review is helpful !!! », « I haven’t read a Asterix book prior to this for 20 years or so. I fancied a touch of nostalgia so I treat myself. I wasn’t disappointed this Asterix adventure is as charming and as much fun to read as I remember them. It’s also very funny and read with adult eyes a little bit subversive! Which is brilliant. Can’t recommend highly enough ».

The Yellow Mark is a criminal that has London enthralled in his exploits: holding up the Bank of England, robbing the imperial crown and many more. The Home Office asks Captain Francis Blake to discover the identity of the man who hides behind the Yellow Mark. Blake immediately calls upon his old friend, Professor Philip Mortimer, to help him unmask this mysterious criminal. Here is a testimonial : One of Blake and Mortimer’s earlier adventures, a little confusingly Cinebook have called this number 1 but it refers to the Mystery of the Great Pyramid in it which are books 2 and 3. Very good stuff though », « To be honest most of the Blake and Mortimers I’ve read were written by others and not by Jacobs. I like very much the modern ones and I was wondering what could be the original one.So it’s really good. Good story, brilliant drawings you can’t stop reading it. Comparing with the first Jacobs story wit the Swordfish one, it’s far better. The story telling and the drawin was developping a lot ».

Detective John Blacksad returns, with a new case that takes him to a 1950s New Orleans filled with hot jazz and cold-blooded murder! Hired to discover the fate of a celebrated pianist, Blacksad finds his most dangerous mystery yet in the midst of drugs, voodoo, the rollicking atmosphere of Mardi Gras, and the dark underbelly that it hides ! Here are testimonials : « Lovely lovely lovely! It’s not as long a book as the first Blacksad from Dark Horse comics, which includes three stories rather than just one with extra bits, but I’m still very happy with what’s in it. Guarnido’s artwork is just breathtaking. He is a master at creating atmosphere, emotion, movement and the melding of human and animal. The stories aren’t that memorable for me but that’s a small quibble. For anyone interested in stories drawn beautifully, I would strongly recommend it. If you haven’t bought the first, larger book of their stories, buy it first, then buy this one. Visual stories don’t get much better than this », « Phenomenal artwork and strong writing – this collection also contains a brilliant art-process section with discussion about the panel painting and process of “lighting” each scene that I would have gladly paid money for by itself ».
