Download PDF – French verbs in several tenses to learn (the 3 groups of verbs)

Hi, Welcome all on Fast French Learning, the blog to Learn and Improve your French 🇫🇷 😀

This article is for everyone, beginners, intermediate, advanced level people. You work on pronunciation while you are learning the verbs and how to conjugate them.

Let us have a look at the different verbs groups. A verb indicates an action : marcher (to walk, manger (to eat), or a state, a characteristic : être (to be), sembler (to appear). It is important to know to which groups they belong to when I want to conjugate them. If you know which groups they belong to, you will be able to put the correct stem and the correct endings. They follow always the same pattern, for the –er verbs (they belong to the 1srt group) or the –ir verbs (they belong to the 2nd group). If you know that, you will not make mistakes in conjugating them.
