How to learn French grammar fast ?

What you want is to learn, to speak French, this is not to learn grammar. The French grammar is full of exceptions. If you have tried to learn French before you might be a bit stressed about having to learn so much, a bit overwhelmed as well. Learning about grammar theory is not mandatory, but learning about French grammar could be a good idea in some cases… Do you recognize yourself in one of those situations ? If yes, you have to check grammar first or come back to it.

1-You are struggling with sentence structure, it is difficult to speak, to communicate because you do not know how to put the verbs in a sentence, how to conjugate the verbs, you do not know simply basic grammar things. Learning French grammar is going to help you in this situation, you will be able to finally build sentences in French. It is all about finding the logic.
2-The second situation where studying French grammar can help you, is when you need to understand the logic to be confident. We are all different when it comes to learning. If you need to understand the rules before playing, if you are a person who needs to understand before being enough confident to speak, starting with grammar is for you.  
3-The third situation is when you need structure to progress.

To learn French grammar fast, make it simple. There are a lot of rules that you do not need to learn . If you open a grammar book and you do not understand what it is says in it, close it because you will not build solid foundation. Examples are so much better than anything else, having a lot of examples illustrating what the grammar point you are learning looks like in context, that is essential.

There are rules but they are quite complex, so you have to memorize them.
Nouns are divided into different classes : the masculine and the feminine.

Nager → to swim
Je nage (present tense) → I am swimming
Je nageais (imperfect tense) → I swam
Je nagerai (future tense) → I will swim

A verb from the 2nd group
Finir → to finish
Je finis → I finish  
Je finissais → I finished
Je finirai → I will finish

A verb from the 3rd group
Lire → to read
Je lis → I read
Je lisais → I read
Je lirai → I will read

How to form basic sentences in French ?

Forming sentences in French is quite simple, especially for English speakers, because French uses the same word order as English.
Let us see examples :
Les enfants jouent dans le jardin → Children play in the garden
If you break down the French sentence you will see that it is in the same order as the English one. Les enfants (children) SUBJECT / jouent (play) VERB / dans (in) le (the) jardin (garden) COMPLEMENT.

How to form negative sentences in French ?

Let us learn how to create negative sentences in French. You have to add ne or n’ (if the following word begins with a vowel) before the verb and pas (ou plus) after it.
J’ai → I have
Je n’ai pas → I have not
J’aime parler → I like to speak
Je n’aime pas parler →  I do not like to speak
Quentin mange → Quentin is eating   
Quentin ne mange pas → Quentin is nnot eating
