I introduce you, here, a part of the grammar, to clarify because French grammar is full of exclusions.

How to learn French grammar fast?

What you want is to learn the French language, you want to speak the French language, you do not want to learn the French grammar rules. There is a lot of exclusions. If you have learnt a bit the French grammar rules before, maybe you do not want to do it anymore because it is too much effort and too much stress. You do not need to know by heart the French grammar rules, but it is good to know some rules, the basics ones.

I suggest you to read the following sentences and see if related to you. If it is related to you, you need to check the French grammar rules first, or if you already did it I suggest you to go back to it.

1-You cannot remember the structures of the sentences, it is hard for you to speak and to communicate, you are wondering where to put the verbs in the phrases, how to conjugate them, you do not know the basics of the French grammar. You need to know the logic of the French language. It can help you.

2-Another situation where knowing the French grammar rules can help : when you need to understand how the French language is build to be confident. Nobody learns in the same way. If you need to understand everything before doing things you are supposed to do, if you needs to strongly understand everything before getting confidence to speakin the French language, I suggest you strongly to begin to learn the French language by studying the French grammar rules.  

3-The last situation : if you need a method, a specifc approach to progress.

In order to learn the French grammar fastly, you can do it in a simple way. The French language is composed by a lot of rules. If you have difficulties to work with a grammar book, I suggest you to not using it, it is not a way for you to build nice foundation. A very nice thing and understandable thing are the examples, I suggest you to have a lot of examples to illustrate the French grammar rules, to put them in a context it is very efficient to print the informations in your mind. To use an app as well it is a nice thing to do to learn the French language, without studying the French grammar rules. To have a immersion-like feeling.

Gender nouns in French

There are rules but they are quite complex, so you have to memorize them.
They are divided into different classes : the masculine and the feminine.

The nouns of living things: human being and animals

The names of inanimate things

Objects, feelings, a quality of being, actions,... They always have the same gender, you can recognize them with their article.

The masculine

The names of the days of the week, the months, the saesons
Un dimanche → a sunday   
Le mois de Janvier → the month of january
Le printemps → the spring

The names of the trees
Un chêne → an oak
Un sapin → a pine tree

The names of the winds
Le mistral
Le sirocco

Exception : la tramontane

The names of empires, kingdoms,... are masculine if the end of the word is not an « e »
Le Danemark
Le Portugal

Exceptions : la France, la Russie

The names of the colours  
Le rouge → red
Le vert → green
Un jaune → yellow

The names that designate a language
Le français → the French language
Le russe → the Russian language

The feminine nous

The names of virtues and quality
La sympathie → sympathy
La paresse → laziness

The classes of verbs

The verbs ending in -er

This is the same patterns for each verbs
Manger → to eat
Nager → to swim
Travailler → to work
Aimer → to like / to love

The verbs ending in -ir

This is the same patterns for each verbs
Finir → to finish
Ralentir → to slow down
Réagir → to react

The verbs ending in -ir, -oir, -re

Mourir → to die
Recevoir → to receive
Lire → to read   

Each class of verbs will be conjugated differently (mood) when used in a sentence. Let us take a look at a few examples to see how they differ, the different mood :

A verb from the 1rst group
Nager → to swim
Je nage (present tense) → I am swimming
Je nageais (imperfect tense) → I swam
Je nagerai (future tense) → I will swim

A verb from the 2nd group
Finir → to finish
Je finis → I finish  
Je finissais → I finished
Je finirai → I will finish

A verb from the 3rd group
Lire → to read
Je lis → I read
Je lisais → I read
Je lirai → I will read

Sentences

How to form basic sentences in French?

Forming sentences in French is quite simple, especially for English speakers, because French uses the same word order as English.
Let us see examples :
Les enfants jouent dans le jardin → Children play in the garden
If you break down the French sentence you will see that it is in the same order as the English one. Les enfants (children) SUBJECT / jouent (play) VERB / dans (in) le (the) jardin (garden) COMPLEMENT.

How to form negative sentences in French?

Let us learn how to create negative sentences in French. You have to add ne or n’ (if the following word begins with a vowel) before the verb and pas (ou plus) after it.
J’ai → I have
Je n’ai pas → I have not
J’aime parler → I like to speak
Je n’aime pas parler →  I do not like to speak
Quentin mange → Quentin is eating   
Quentin ne mange pas → Quentin is not eating
