Practicing your French with a story (French/English)

Hi, Welcome all on Fast French Learning, the blog to Learn and Improve your French 🇫🇷 😀

Les deux puissants / The two powerful

One day, two beings with very powerful powers were discussing and each thought that one was stronger than the other.

« I have uprooted entire forests and sunk a lot of ships. You can't do that », one says.

L’autre le regarda tranquillement.
The other looked at him quietly.

« That doesn't mean you're stronger than me », he said.

« I can put clouds on you, so people can't see you anymore ! »

« You can't hide me though », replied the Wind.

L’autre sourit gentillement.
The other smiles kindly.

« I'm sure I'm stronger than you », he said calmly.

He started to get angry. He didn't want the other to be stronger than him.

« Nous pouvons faire une compétition ? »
« Can we do a competition ? »

« So, let's see who can destroy the most houses ? »

« Nous pouvons faire plus simple que cela. Tu vois la personne là-bas ? »
« We can make it easier than that. Do you see the person there ? »

Un homme marchait sur la route.
A man was walking on the road.

He was very happy, he sang for his pleasure. He had a scarf over his shoulder.

« Let's try to get him out of the way »

« I disagree, it can hurt him »

« Essayons de lui enlever son écharpe ».
« Let's try to take off his scarf »

L’un fit gronder le ciel.
One made the sky rumble.

He huffed and made the trees move very hard.

The man walking on the path looked at the sky, thinking that the weather was getting worse, he wrapped his neck around his neck with his scarf so that it did not fly away.

The sky was then filled with many clouds.

The animals hid for protection and the wind got stronger.

Ensuite les nuages partirent.
Then the clouds left.

Le vent a diminué.
The wind has diminished.

« I stop, the wind is too difficult to reduce ».

« C’est à moi maintenant »
« It's mine now »

He's taking up space, he's getting ready.

It produced a strong heat, it was impressive.

The man walking on the path looked up to the sky and felt the strong heat, he was sweating.

« It’s hot today, it’s amazing ! », he says to him.

He then removed his scarf from his neck.

« Il semblerait que tu as gagné »
« Looks like you won »

Ils rirent tous les deux.
And they both laughed.
